The Ultimate Guide to Dog-Friendly Seattle

Seattle is an incredible city for dog lovers—whether you’re a longtime local or just visiting, there are so many ways to enjoy the city with your pup by your side. From off-leash parks to dog-friendly cafes and breweries, there’s no shortage of places where your four-legged friend is more than welcome. Here’s my guide to some of the best dog-friendly spots in Seattle!

Dog-Friendly Parks and Trails

Seattle has some amazing parks and trails where you and your pup can explore, run, and enjoy the outdoors together.

1. Magnuson Park Off-Leash Area

📍 7400 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle

Magnuson Park has one of the largest off-leash dog areas in Seattle—over 8 acres, plus access to Lake Washington for dogs who love the water! It’s fully fenced, making it a great spot for dogs to run, play, and socialize safely.

2. Golden Gardens Park

📍 8498 Seaview Pl NW, Seattle

This stunning beachside park in Ballard offers breathtaking waterfront views, hiking trails, and an off-leash area. Dogs love running on the sand and splashing in Puget Sound!

3. Westcrest Park Off-Leash Area

📍 9000 8th Ave SW, Seattle

A hidden gem in West Seattle, this park has a large off-leash area with shaded trails and even agility equipment. If you have an energetic pup who loves to explore, this is a great place to check out.

4. Discovery Park

📍 3801 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle

While not an off-leash park, Discovery Park is one of my favorite places to take a leashed walk with a dog. With miles of scenic trails, open meadows, and sweeping views of Puget Sound, it’s a fantastic spot for a peaceful outdoor adventure.

5. Green Lake Park

📍 7201 E Green Lake Dr N, Seattle

One of Seattle’s most popular walking spots, Green Lake has a scenic 2.8-mile loop that’s perfect for a leisurely walk with your pup.

Dog-Friendly Cafés and Restaurants

Looking for a great place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat with your pup? Seattle has plenty of dog-friendly spots where you can relax with your furry friend.

1. Norm’s Kitchen & Bar

📍 460 N 36th St, Seattle

A Fremont favorite, Norm’s is one of the most dog-friendly restaurants in Seattle. Pups are welcome inside, and they even have a special dog menu with treats and meals for your four-legged dining companion.

2. Bark Espresso

This coffee shop is made for dog lovers! They have a “dog lounge” where pups can hang out while you enjoy your coffee.

3. The Pink Door (Patio Seating Only)

📍 1919 Post Alley, Seattle

Located in Pike Place Market, The Pink Door has a beautiful dog-friendly patio where you can enjoy delicious Italian food with your pup by your side.

4. Chuck’s Hop Shop

📍 Multiple Locations

A must-visit for beer lovers, Chuck’s Hop Shop is incredibly dog-friendly. On any given day, you’ll find plenty of dogs hanging out while their owners enjoy a craft beer.

5. Seattle Barkery

📍 South Lake Union & Phinney Ridge Locations

This one is just for the dogs! The Seattle Barkery serves freshly made dog treats, pupcakes, and even dog-friendly ice cream.

Dog-Friendly Breweries

Seattle’s brewery scene is not only amazing for beer lovers—it’s also super welcoming for dogs. Here are a few of my favorite dog-friendly spots to grab a drink:

Rooftop Brewing Company (📍 1220 W Nickerson St, Seattle) – A pet-friendly brewery with a covered outdoor patio.

Fremont Brewing (📍 1050 N 34th St, Seattle) – A favorite spot with a spacious beer garden where dogs are welcome.

Reuben’s Brews (📍 5010 14th Ave NW, Seattle) – Located in Ballard, this brewery has plenty of outdoor dog-friendly seating.

Dog-Friendly Activities & Events

Beyond parks and cafes, Seattle has some unique dog-friendly activities and events that you won’t want to miss!

1. Dog-Friendly Kayaking & Paddleboarding

Agua Verde Paddle Club & Moss Bay Kayak Rentals

If your dog is up for an adventure, some Seattle rental companies allow pups to join you on kayaks and paddleboards.

2. Bring Your Dog to a Mariners Game

📍 T-Mobile Park

The Mariners host “Bark at the Park” nights, where you can bring your dog to enjoy a game at the stadium. It’s a fun way to combine baseball and quality time with your pup!

3. Dog-Friendly Ferry Rides

📍 Washington State Ferries

Leashed dogs are allowed on Washington State Ferries, making for a fun day trip to Bainbridge Island or one of the other nearby destinations.

4. Meetups & Events

Seattle has tons of dog-friendly events throughout the year, from Dogtoberfest to the Seattle Pet Expo. If you’re looking for a great way to meet other dog owners, check out local dog meetups!
